• Barbera- This is a delicious Italian red wine that has a fruity flavor such as blackberries, black cherries, blueberry and raspberry. This wine tastes delicious when it’s being paired with red meats.
  
  
• Cabaret Sauvignon- This wine is by far the most popular of all the types of red wine, it has a full body taste and can be blended to create a delicious varietal wine. It is best served with steak but also goes well with chicken, veal, fish and pork.
  
  
• Malbec- This is a dark thick wine that is blended with 3 other varieties. It goes good with red meat.
  
  
• Merlot- Another of the more popular types of red wine, is lighter than most of the stronger tasting red wines and has less tannic as will. Merlot can be paired with any food; however it is really delicious with beef lamb, mushrooms, warmly spiced meat, and foods cooked out on the grill. Because there are some merlots that have a taste of olives, they go particularly well with black olives.
  
  
• Pinot Noir- This wine is a sensual red wine that tastes or dark red fruity and warm spices. It matches well with more spicy foods such as a very strong duck, lamb or venison. It tastes great with foods made with the warm spices such as ginger, cloves, cinnamon and cumin.

  It is a real treat when served with real spicy Mediterranean and Asian cuisine and it is a great match for many types of cheeses.

• Sangnovese- This is another Italian wine which has a fresh fruity taste. This type if red wine goes particularly well with lasagna, spaghetti and any other dish served with red tomato sauce. It is also best served Luke-warm with your meals.
  
  
• Shiraz or Syrah- these are names describing wine made by the same king if wine grape. These types of wines are known for their spicy flavors, they match up with spicy foods such as Mexican foods and Indian foods. These are best served warm or at least room temperature.
  
  
• Red Zinfandel- this is the most popular type of red wine in America with a spicy fruity flavor. It goes particularly well with fun foods such as pizza, and hamburger. It even tastes good with tomato sauces. Because zinfandels are so light some people may drink it with just about any meal type.
