Countertop Wine Racks: What a Lovely Idea!

Home > Home Wine Racks > Countertop Wine Racks

Even if you have a large collection of wine in a special room or in a wine cellar, you may want to display a few bottles of your favorite varietals in one of the many excellent countertop wine racks. These well designed and functional units are available in a wide range of sizes and styles, ready to safely store and present your wine.

In addition to the variety of designs and materials offered, some suppliers provide ready-to-assemble kits and plans that allow you to craft and build your own wine rack from wood or metal.

No matter what direction you decide to go, countertop presentation for your wines is a great idea. You'll be even more proud of your collection and have great wines at hand to serve to your guests.

This type of wine rack is ideal for smaller rooms and kitchens in which space is at a premium. In addition, the explosion in wine popularity over the past few years has spawned dozens of merchants who offer wine storage units that will fit with nearly every room-decorating style and color. Some of the smaller wine racks are made to work as stationary countertop models as well as wine caddies, perfect for moving two or three bottles from one location to the another.

As mentioned earlier, countertop wine racks are available in a range of prices, from the smallest, simplest design ($20 to $40) to the larger, more elaborate wrought iron and hardwood racks ($90 to $130).

General Rule: It all depends on what you need and what you want to present to guests.

Here are a few examples of the less-expensive models. But don't let the reasonable prices lead you astray. These are beautiful and functional wine storage pieces that you'll be happy to have in your kitchen, dining room or family room.

Maybe you will want to try the 10-bottle wrought iron idea, with the metal carefully crafted in leaf shapes to enhance the beauty.

This model is available from suppliers for about $70. If you prefer to go with a slightly smaller countertop wine rack, choose the wrought iron, three-bottle design that is shaped to resemble grapevines. Two slightly different designs are available, both at around $40.

Combined wine racks: bottles plus glasses

For about $60 you can purchase a model that holds both bottles and wine glasses.

Again, this design resembles grapevines and is made from quality wrought iron. Other models from the same supplier hold the bottles so that you can spin the rack and choose a particular wine.

When you begin shopping for the perfect countertop wine racks to hold your great wines, it's best to keep a few key ideas in mind.

  • Make sure that the space you designate for your rack is not near a heating vent.

  • It should also keep the wine out of direct sunlight.

  • Not only that, but you should take careful measurements to make sure that the product you buy will fit in the space and give you easy access to wine when guests arrive.

Modern countertop wine racks

If you prefer a more modern look for your wine display you may want to try a clear and black acrylic Da Vinci wine rack that holds six bottles of wine.

Modern, 6 bottle countertop wine rack. The retail price on these can range from $30 to $40 dollars. Some online suppliers offer this product for around $20, but you'll have to do a bit of searching.

Bali makes an excellent portable wine rack from wrought iron that is designed to elegantly display three bottles of your favorite varieties. Some merchants offer this model for around $50, though the retail price in boutique stores might approach $80 or $90.

Some creative ideas for your wine racks

7 bottle wine rack. One of the interesting ideas in the wine-rack world is the Zanzibar 7-bottle design.

This item displays wine in a circular fashion, similar to the often used spice islands seen in many kitchens. The price from various suppliers ranges from $20 to $35 dollars, depending on availability.

If that doesn't suit your home décor or design ideas, you may want to go with a Boltz steel rack. This gem among countertop wine racks will hold your wine securely on the counter, on the tabletop or on the bar. Prices vary depending on the supplier.

Take some time to find out what is available in countertop wine racks and proudly display your wine!
